Until the arrival of archaeologists, the ruins of the church in the village of Felsőalpár, which was devastated during the Fifteen Years’ War (1591–1606), had lain dormant beneath a mound for more than three centuries. The ruins excavated by the team of the Katona József Museum in Kecskemét and surveyed using 3D photo technology are now visible with the use of augmented reality, together with theoretical reconstructions of the church’s two periods (the Romanesque and the Gothic).
